Melissa grew up in Medicine Lodge, KS and moved to Topeka in 1992 to attend Washburn University where she was a member of the Lady Blues Basketball team. She graduated from Washburn with a degree in Social Work in 1996 and in 2006 Melissa received her Masters in Management from Friends University. Melissa and her husband, Scott, have three children, Connor (wife Eleanor), Zach, and Bailey.
