Melanie Brown is a lifelong Topeka resident and graduate of Shawnee Heights High School class of 1993 and Washburn University class of 1998. She holds a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts with certification to teach. She also holds a Master’s of Science in Education from Arkansas State University.

Melanie married Chad Brown in 1999. He, too, is a Shawnee Heights graduate, class of 1990. She and Chad have lived on the SE side of Topeka all of their lives. They have a special fondness and strong sense of community with SE Topeka. They have two sons, Caleb and Cooper.

Chad teaches and coaches at Jardine Middle School.  Melanie has been an Art teacher since 1998 for Topeka Public Schools.  Through teaching and coaching Melanie and Chad have developed relationships with families all over Topeka. 

In the spring of 2025 Melanie became a licensed REALTOR.  She looks forward to a new and exciting career in Real Estate. 

Melanie enjoys cooking and crafting, as well as watching her sons in their activities. 

Melanie is looking forward to this next chapter and helping people find their next place to call home!
